Gunnar Deatherage’s Spy-Wear is dedicated to and inspired by women who served as spies in the two great world wars. They were military women, journalists, cooks, actresses and ordinary women caught up in extraordinary times. Josephine Baker, Heady Lamarr, Maria Gulovich, Violette Reine Elizabeth Bushell, Virginia Hall and Princess Noor-un-nisa Inayat Khan, just to name a few, took their secrets to the grave and were known only to their contacts.
Deatherage Designs invites you to watch a preview of the 2012 Spy-Wear fall line worn by models Lexi Stevens Modèle, Leah Cultice, Ashley Brock, and Courtney Blanton. The video is set to a haunting rendition of Lili Marleen performed by OSS operative, Marlene Dietrich. The song was used as propaganda by the OSS to demoralize weary Nazi soldiers.
