Photographer Jason Lee Parry Goes On The Open Road for Free People and Black & Grey

LOS ANGELESBlack & Grey magazine is pleased to announce the start of our Open Roads/Open Minds series and first editorial project of the year! Photographer auteur Jason Lee Parry, who has been referred to as the “Kerouac of his Generation”, and has shot everyone from Top 10 models like Abby Lee Kershaw to chanteuse and muse to Hedi Slimane and Marc Jacobs Sky Ferreira is going on the #openroad for an epic (dare we say HISTORIC) adventure. Shooting only vintage 35mm, medium format and Polaroid, Fuju Instamax and 16mm cinema camera #film for a 3 week road trip through California, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado,New Mexico and Arizona. From the Hollywood Hills, to the high desert, up the coast at Big Sur, into Oakland and City Lights San Francisco, to the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountains.

jasonleeparry01 Traveling only with his cameras and his model-muse wife Jenny Parry we will attempt to accomplish a series of portraitures and candid photographs of the open road and a few notable friends and HEROS of freedom and the American Philosophy of the Open Road/Open Mind along the way. Jason and Jenny will not beall alone however. Along for the ride, and documenting the epic journey and providing some comfort in the way of coverings for Ms Parry is the infamous fashion line Free People and Fashion Art Lit hybrid Black & Grey magazine.

Jason invites FRIENDS and ACCOMPLICES along the way to contact him and participate. He is hoping to shoot portraitures of cultural heroes David Lynch, Lawrence Ferhlinghetti, Oliver Stone, Diane DiPrima, Melanie Laurent, John Waters, Spike Jonze, Joaquin Phoenix, Olivier Zahm, Harmony Korine, Chloe Sevigny, Bob Dylan, Val Kilmer, Lea Seydoux, Hedi Slimane, Mike mills, The Kills, Sofia Coppolla, Tom Petty, Michael Pitt, Patti Smith, Courtney Love and others as well as grab the sights of the unique American countryside that is far from gone.

We must not forget where our past has been and where we need to be to move FORWARD.
